As a way to accelerate the progress Southport learning Town has already made this year, the organisation has applied for financial support through the Awards for All programme overseen by the National Lottery. This managers of this fund believe that social connections and community activities are at the heart of creating healthier, happier lives and a flourishing society and are therefore committed to supporting ‘amazing community-led projects’.
This scheme offers funding up to £20,000 and can support a community project for up to two years. The intention of the fund is to:
• bring people together to build strong relationships in and across communities
• improve the places and spaces that matter to communities
• help more people to reach their potential, by supporting them at the earliest possible stage
• support people, communities and organisations facing more demands and challenges because of the cost-of-living crisis.
All the aims chime with the intentions of Southport Learning Town (SLT), which can be found outlined in detail on the SLT website. We look forward to reporting our success in securing such funding in the future and, in doing so, continue to further advance our ambitions for the community.
